Pastors of Shenstone Baptist Church

Alan & his wife Helen Rietberg have been married since 1974 and have two children, Jonathan & Joshua along with an unofficially adopted daughter, Nydie. Alan grew up in Toronto and was saved through Christian Service Brigade while Helen grew up in a pastor’s home and became a Christian at an early age. They met at Bible college and both of them have spent time in short term missions ministries before their marriage as well as since that time. Both are graduates of Central Baptist Seminary in Toronto, now called Heritage College and Seminary located in Cambridge.  They served at Temple Baptist Church (Cambridge) for 25 years....Youth Pastor for 23 years and Associate Pastor for 2 years before Alan was called in June 2002 to become the Senior pastor in Shenstone Memorial Baptist Church in Brantford.

Shawn Hippern and his wife, Sarah have been married since 1998 and have three children (Kayla, Micah and Emma) and 2 foster children (Paul and Jacob). They have been involved in the staff ministry at Shenstone since December 2003 as the pastor of Youth to Young Families. Shawn was raised as a foster child and was saved at 13 years of age while Sarah’s family took in foster children all during her life. Both spent their formative years in Cobourg at Fellowship Baptist Church. Shawn spent three summers working for C.E.F. and Sarah worked in her local church children’s ministry as well as a short term missions trip to Pakistan. Upon Shawn’s graduation from Emmanuel Bible College in Kitchener, they served for over three years in the Youth Ministry at a church in Wheatley. After a year back in their home church they came to Shenstone Baptist to oversee the ministry in which they now serve.
